The following tours are to provide those who are interested in an opportunity to find out about the Korean culture and places. Complete the Hotel and Tour Reservation Form and return it to the Secretariat of the 13th WPACCM to make your reservation. All costs are based on a minimum number of participants. Please note that if the minimum number is not reached, the tour will be cancelled.



DT1: Gyeongbokgung (Palace) Tour

Gyeongbok Palace: (Historic site No.117), meaning the palace of shining happiness, is considered the most beautiful in architectural style among the 5 major palaces in Seoul. The National Folk Museum, located inside Gyeongbokgung (Palace), shows various examples of Korean life in all periods. You will also visit Jogyesa (Temple), the largest temple in Seoul.

Korean Folk Village: Here is the perfect place to relish the earthy yet aesthetic flavor of Korean life. This village is a living museum that recreates the life style of a traditional Korean rural town. Exhibited are over 260 traditional houses with over 30,000 household goods from the different regions.

Itinerary: Itaewon Street - Dongdaemun Market - Seoul Tower
From the Itaewon intersection, this special tourism zone stretches past the Hamilton Hotel to Hannam-dong. It is honeycombed with about 2,000 shops as well as jazz bars, nightclubs and ethnic restaurants. This district is popular with both foreign residences and tourists. Some of the greatest bargains can be found at Dongdaemun Market, a large shopping area packed with small shops and big malls. Dongdaemun has become famous for providing goods at very reasonable prices.

Since the Korean War Armistice Agreement, North Korea has built extensive tunneling systems into the South Korean territory. This tour takes you to a journey to witness the tragedy of a nation divided in two.

Yejiwon is an institute established to teach the traditional Korean culture and manners. From this tour, you will grasp the importance of tea culture. You will also learn how to wear a Korean traditional dress (Hanbok). Hanok village in Namsan will allow you to learn about the traditional Korean culture.


DT6: COEX Aquarium and Changdeokgung (Palace) Tour

COEX Mall is Korea's first ever acrylic undersea tunnel, 72 meters long, with a moving walkway, allowing you to experience a fantastic walk inside the ocean itself. Changdeokgung (Palace) and Huwon have been designated as a 'Cultural Heritage of the World' by UNESCO. Insadong will impress you with its novel antiques, galleries and traditional tea houses. Gaze over Seoul from the top of Seoul Tower.

DT 7: Korean Food (Kimchi) Experience Tour

Itinerary: Garakdong Vegetable Whole Sale Market - Cooking Class - Kimchi and Bulgoggi (Marinated Beaf) - Lunch with your own food -Talk with the cook and taste Korean traditional dessert
Cooking Class will start with Kimchi using salted cabbage and ingredients, and finish with Bulgogi, which will be served as lunch. A traditional Korean dessert will be served after the meal.
